57 Almajiri boys beneficiaries

introduction

The Murmushi People’s Development Foundation, through its Almajiri support initiative (MASI), conducted another feeding and hygiene promotion program for 57 Almajiri boys to promote personal hygiene and good health practices.
Murmushi remains committed to improving the welfare of vulnerable children and ensuring their overall well-being. The intervention aligns with the foundation’s mission to support and uplift marginalized communities, particularly vulnerable children who often lack access to necessities

Objectives of Activity

  • To provide nutritious meals, ensuring that Almajiri boys receive adequate food to improve their health and reduce the risk of malnutrition
  • To promote hygiene awareness through educating the children on proper hygiene practices, including handwashing, personal cleanliness, and environmental sanitation
  • To support vulnerable children with direct assistance to Almajiri boys who often lack access to necessities, improving their quality of life
  • To create awareness of child welfare and the needs of Almajiri children, emphasizing the importance of education, health, and social inclusion

Achievements

The initiative successfully fed 57 Almajiri boys while effectively engaged in learning proper hygiene practices, showing enthusiasm for adopting better habits. Strong community support and organization contributed to the event’s success. Additionally, the program raised awareness about nutrition and hygiene, reinforcing a commitment to future engagements for vulnerable children

Challenges

  • The Almajiri lack detergent to properly wash their feeding containers, so they just rinse them all the time.
  • The starting time is late, and we had to rush the lecture because of Friday prayer
  • Most of the Almajiri do not have shoes
