The Murmushi People’s Development Foundation, through its Almajiri support initiative (MASI), conducted another feeding and hygiene promotion program for 74 Almajiri boys to promote personal hygiene and good health practices.
Murmushi remains committed to improving the welfare of vulnerable children and ensuring their overall well-being. The intervention aligns with the foundation’s mission to support and uplift marginalized communities, particularly vulnerable children who often lack access to necessities
Objectives of Activity
- To provide nutritious meals, ensuring that Almajiri boys receive adequate food to improve their health and reduce the risk of malnutrition
- To promote hygiene awareness through educating the children on proper hygiene practices, including handwashing, personal cleanliness, and environmental sanitation
- To support vulnerable children with direct assistance to Almajiri boys who often lack access to necessities, improving their quality of life
- To create awareness of child welfare and the needs of Almajiri children, emphasizing the importance of education, health, and social inclusion
Achievements
- The initiative successfully fed 74 Almajiri boys while effectively engaged in learning proper hygiene practices, showing enthusiasm for adopting better habits
- A new approach was used because we got new beneficiaries who joined us this week, and we had to repeat topics. So, to avoid making the program boring for the existing beneficiaries, we invited some volunteers to explain and demonstrate to the newbies
- From the start, most of the almajiri didn’t have shoes, but we noticed everyone came with shoes this week, which is a huge progress from when we started
- An inspection was conducted, and all the almajiri present this week had their nails cut
