Murmushi People’s Development Foundation implemented a peacebuilding and governance project in Demsa LGA under the GIZ SEPIN Programme to foster peace, reconciliation, and inclusive development through a participatory Community Development Planning (CDP) process. The initiative promoted social cohesion by ensuring the active participation of IDPs, returnees, women, youth, and persons with disabilities in local decision-making. MPDF conducted socio-economic mapping, stakeholder engagement, ward-level sensitization, and dialogue sessions that engaged over 1,000 participants across 10 wards. The process resulted in the development of a comprehensive, costed LGA-level Community Development Plan, validated by local authorities and aligned with state priorities. Follow-up committees were trained to sustain the outcomes, strengthening inclusive governance, citizen participation, and community resilience in conflict-prone areas.

Project Objective
