support for strengthening resilience in Adamawa State

Murmushi People’s Development Foundation implemented a governance and resilience project in Gombi LGA to strengthen inclusive decision-making through the Community Development Planning (CDP) process. The project is to create support for strengthening resilience in the northeast. Using a participatory, bottom-up approach, the project brought together local leaders, women, youth, IDPs, and persons with disabilities to identify challenges and develop actionable ward-level plans. MPDF conducted sensitization workshops, dialogue sessions, community mobilization, and CDP training for Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), enhancing their role in inclusive governance. The intervention produced five comprehensive Community Development Plans across five wards, outlining priorities in health, education, WASH, agriculture, and social protection. It also established Ward Project Supervisory Committees to foster collaboration, accountability, and sustainability between communities and local government authorities.
